LIGHTING CONTROL NOTES AND EXCLUSIONS

1. Lighting Control Scope & System Responsibilities

Powerfull Systems, Inc. (“PSI”) provides lighting control systems in accordance with the equipment, quantities, programming, installation, and services specifically identified within the approved proposal.

Depending on the project scope, PSI’s work may include lighting control processors, gateways, keypads, occupancy/vacancy sensors, interfaces, control modules, associated low-voltage devices, system programming, testing, commissioning, and integration with other compatible systems.

Equipment, devices, fixtures, wiring, programming, installation, or services not specifically identified within the approved proposal are excluded unless added through an approved change order.

Project-specific system quantities, equipment selections, value-engineering modifications, and other unique project requirements will remain identified within the applicable proposal.

2. Lighting Control Design & Engineering

Lighting control design and engineering services may include system architecture, equipment selection, load schedules, control requirements, keypad planning, device coordination, wiring requirements, integration requirements, and documentation necessary to support PSI’s contracted lighting control scope.

PSI will coordinate its system requirements with the project team as reasonably necessary. Architectural, electrical, lighting fixture, interior design, and other information provided by others will be relied upon in developing the lighting control system.

Changes to architectural plans, lighting designs, fixture specifications, electrical requirements, control intent, or other project information after design or engineering work has been completed may require revisions and additional engineering services.

3. Lighting Control Programming & Commissioning

Lighting control programming includes configuration of the system and associated control devices specifically included within PSI’s contracted scope.

Programming may include system files, load assignments, basic scenes, schedules, keypad functions, preliminary engraving information, system uploads, on-site programming, testing, and adjustments necessary for initial system commissioning.

Final programming will be based on the approved system design and available information at the time of commissioning. Programming requested beyond the contracted scope or after initial commissioning may be considered additional work.

4. Scenes, Schedules & Control Programming

PSI will configure lighting scenes, schedules, keypad functions, and other control behaviors as identified within the contracted scope and based on information provided by the client and project team.

Scene levels and control behaviors may be adjusted during initial commissioning to establish the intended operation of the system.

Requests for additional scenes, substantial revisions to previously established programming, changes in control intent, or programming modifications requested after initial commissioning may require additional programming services and may be performed on a Time & Material (“T&M”) basis.

5. Keypads, Engraving & Device Finishes

Keypad styles, button configurations, finishes, and engraving will be based on the equipment specified within the approved proposal and selections approved for the project.

Preliminary engraving may be developed as part of the programming and design process. Final engraving should be reviewed and approved by the appropriate client or project representative prior to ordering or final production.

Changes to approved engraving, keypad configurations, finishes, or device selections after materials have been ordered may result in additional material, programming, engineering, and labor charges.

Custom finishes and specialty products may also be subject to manufacturer-specific lead times and availability.

6. Load Assignment, Dimming & Fixture Compatibility

Proper lighting control performance depends on compatibility between the lighting control equipment, electrical loads, drivers, transformers, lamps, and lighting fixtures specified for the project.

Lighting fixtures and associated drivers or power supplies provided by others must be compatible with the specified control and dimming method.

PSI will configure and commission controlled loads based on the information and equipment available to PSI. Performance limitations resulting from incompatible fixtures, drivers, lamps, transformers, electrical conditions, or products supplied by others are not considered defects in the lighting control system.

Changes to fixtures, drivers, loads, or dimming requirements after the lighting control system has been designed or ordered may require equipment changes, engineering revisions, programming modifications, or additional labor.

7. Electrical Contractor / Line-Voltage Responsibilities

Unless specifically included within PSI’s proposal, line-voltage electrical work is to be provided by the Electrical Contractor (“EC”) or other appropriately licensed trade.

This may include branch circuits, line-voltage wiring, electrical boxes, receptacles, lighting fixture installation, electrical devices, final electrical connections, and other line-voltage work required to support the lighting control system.

PSI will provide reasonable coordination related to the lighting control system and may verify controlled-load operation during commissioning. Such coordination or verification does not transfer responsibility for electrical installation or electrical work performed by others to PSI.

8. Rough-In, Wiring & Prewire Requirements

Required rough-in conditions, wiring, electrical boxes, pathways, conduit, equipment locations, and other infrastructure necessary to support the lighting control system must be installed in accordance with PSI documentation, manufacturer requirements, approved plans, and applicable project specifications.

Where rough-in or wiring is performed by others, the responsible trade must ensure that required infrastructure is complete and accessible prior to PSI’s applicable installation phase.

Corrections, troubleshooting, additional labor, or return visits resulting from incomplete, inaccessible, incorrectly installed, or modified rough-in conditions may result in additional charges.

9. System Integration & Third-Party Interfaces

Where specifically included within the approved scope, PSI may integrate the lighting control system with compatible third-party systems, equipment, or interfaces.

Successful integration is dependent upon compatibility, functionality, programming access, network availability, documentation, software, licenses, credentials, and cooperation from the applicable third-party manufacturer or service provider.

PSI is not responsible for changes to third-party products, software, APIs, firmware, services, compatibility, or functionality that occur outside PSI’s control.

Additional engineering, programming, troubleshooting, or modifications required due to third-party system changes or conditions may be considered additional work.

10. Programming Revisions & Additional Adjustments

Initial system programming, testing, and reasonable adjustments required to commission the lighting control system are included when identified within PSI’s contracted scope.

Programming revisions requested after initial commissioning, including changes to scenes, schedules, keypad functions, load assignments, control behavior, or other client preferences, may be considered additional work.

Adjustments requiring return visits, additional programming, troubleshooting, or modifications outside the approved scope may be performed on a Time & Material (“T&M”) basis.

Project-specific services such as nighttime lighting adjustments or other specialized programming sessions will be included only when specifically identified within the proposal. Otherwise, such services may be provided as additional work.

11. Lighting Control Testing & Client Training

PSI will test and commission the lighting control equipment included within its contracted scope to verify system communication and intended control operation.

Testing may include confirmation of device communication, load control, keypad functions, programmed scenes, schedules, and applicable system integrations.

Where included, PSI will provide reasonable client orientation or training regarding normal operation of the completed lighting control system.

Additional training sessions, programming changes, system modifications, or support requested after completion may be provided as additional services.

Lighting Control Materials, Lead Times & Availability

Lighting control equipment is subject to manufacturer availability, production schedules, product lifecycle changes, custom finish requirements, and shipping conditions.

Certain products, including custom-finished devices, engraved keypads, specialty components, or manufacturer-configured equipment, may require extended production lead times.

Estimated project-specific lead times will be identified within the applicable proposal when available. Lead times are estimates and may change based on manufacturer or supply-chain conditions outside PSI’s control.

If specified lighting control equipment becomes unavailable or discontinued, PSI may recommend a compatible substitute in accordance with the Product Availability, Discontinuation & Substitutions provisions contained within PSI’s General Terms & Conditions.
